Deals: It's time for Winnetka's Sidewalk Sales! They're this Friday
and Saturday, July 20th - 21st from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
You'll find great deals in all the major retail districts - Hubbard
Woods, East and West Elm Streets.

In addition to the great buys, you can take in some great jazz music.
There will also be collection boxes for donations to Music Rising,
an organization designed to support bringing the musical community
back to life in New Orleans.

Not enough? The sidewalk sales will also have food, games,
activities, art and face painting. There will even be a car and
truck display. Fun for everyone! See you there!

What's Happening:

Looking for a little culture? Wilmette is host
to the Edens Art Fair, in Edens Plaza (Lake St and Skokie Blvd.)
- Painting, pottery, jewelry and more - it's all there!

And in Evanston, there's the Ethnic Arts Festival at Dawes Park
(Church St. and lakefront) - just look for the flags of more than
100 countries that'll surround the festival grounds. Live music,
juried art, and the chance to learn folk dancing!

And have you ever wanted to know just a little more about the Skokie
NorthShore Sculpture Park? Here's your chance - this Sunday, narrated
tours of the 72-piece exhibit will be available. Tours start at
1 p.m, at three locations:
1) the north parking lot between Dempster and Main
2) the northeast corner of Oakton and McCormick, and,
3) the south parking lot between Touhy and Howard.

And the best part for all these events? They're free!

Kids: It's summer, we know - but chances are your school district
is gearing up for residency verification. If you're an alpha mom,
you probably already have this in the mail, but if you're just
gathering the required information together, here's a quick tip:

Check out Cook County's web site at
www.cookcountytreasurer.com/payment.aspx?ntopicid=3.
You'll be able to print off the latest copy of your tax bill with
verification of payment. It's a lot easier than digging through
your filing cabinet.
