Wilmette Goes Kid Hollywood This Weekend
Yes - North America's largest children's film festival, the Chicago
International Children's Film Festival, (http://cicff2007.org/) is
this weekend, October 27 - 28, in Wilmette - it's a qualifying
festival for these films to head to Hollywood for the Oscars, so
you can be the the first to say, "Yeah, we saw that months ago!"
Admissions to screenings at the Wilmette Theater are $6 for
children and $8 for adults and need to be purchased through
TicketWeb (http://www.ticketweb.com/) And here's an Insider Tip...
Don't literally drive yourself crazy looking for a parking spot -
free parking is readily accessible on weekends - check out the
Metra commuter lots just a short walk away.

And a scary good time! Check out the Chicago Botanical Garden's
Model Railroad this weekend, Saturday, October 27 and Sunday the
28th for a "Frightfully Good Time." You're invited to come in
costume and hang out in the garden with all the ghosts and goblins
while kids can partake in all sorts of goodies.
Regular admission applies - parking is $15, admission is $5 for
adults, and $3 for kids ages 2 - 12. Members of the Garden do get
$1 off admission and free parking.
Here's an Insider Tip - If you're looking for great spots in the
main garden for kid-friendly photo opportunities (think holiday
cards, people!), staff suggests Evening Island and the Esplanade.
