Get Your Art Fix At Deer Path This Weekend

Tomorrow evening, the Deer Path Art League is hosting its Holiday
Boutique Opening Reception. There you'll find original art work
by local artists - support the North Shore this holiday season!

We'll Teach You Some Manners!

OK - so WE won't - but if you're struggling with teaching your kids
on how to be polite, especially in this day and age, check out a
special class called the "Manners, Please" workshop, by Patricia
O'Brien, a Washington School of Protocol trained and certified
instructor.

This workshop, at the Gorton Community Center in Lake
Forest, is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., and includes a dining
tutorial, how to make introductions, write thank-you notes, proper
telephone etiquette, and accepting and declining invitations. The
cost is $65, which includes a catered luncheon.

Insider Tip: Edens Back Up To Speed...Ahhh For Now

In case you haven't ventured near the Edens for a few weeks, the
construction barrels have officially been put away for the winter.
Keep in mind - construction is scheduled to return in April, when
the Edens will be reduced to two lanes each way to complete the
road work and bridge repairs. It's anticipated that the road work
will continue through July of '08.

Here's another construction tip:
Keep your eyes peeled for workers and be prepared for slower
traffic while traveling Sheridan Rd. between Wilmette and Evanston,
from 10th street to Isabella St. - there's resurfacing, drainage
and sewer work, and traffic signal installation taking place this
month.

Wanna Get Real With Sushi?

Here's a chance to catch some local reality celebs in action for charity -
RA Sushi in the Glen Town Center is hosting a celebrity sushi roll event
on Wednesday, November 14 at 5:30. Local stars from Big Brother, Survivor,
The Apprentice and The Real World will be on hand to compete in a sushi
roll contest. And you can be on hand to help judge! If you're up

Make Money While Spending It...

If you plan to hit up Northbrook Court during the holiday season,
consider using your Discover Card - they're running a special promotion
during which you'll get a $20 gift card for every $200 you spend with

auctioning off some of its equipment - so if you're looking for anything
from a regular push mower to a rider, leaf blowers to line makers
(for those backyard baseball games!) - check out the public viewing
on Saturday, November 10 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Skokie Park
District Park Services Building, 7701 Skokie Blvd. Sealed bids are due
Sunday, November 11 by 2 p.m.
