Get Your Suess On
You don't have to be a kid, have a kid, or even know a kid to love
Dr. Suess. And this weekend, you can get your fill of all things
Suess at the Amdur Gallery and the Glen Town Center in Glenview.
Looking for some fun for free? Art lovers can drop in on a curator
talk at the Amdur Gallery from 6 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 15.
William W. Dreyer will be there to talk about "the Art of Dr. Suess"
collection, featured exclusively at the Amdur Gallery through the
end of the month.
And kids can get in on the silly with an appearance by the Cat in
the Hat and opportunities to make their very own striped headgear
from 1 - 4 p.m. in the heart of the Glen Town Center at Navy Park.
I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For...Free Makeup!
Ok, ladies...raise your hand if you've ever hit the Clinique counter
during "Clinique Bonus" days? Yeah, you know it. Just an FYI for you -
Lancome is running their gift bonus through this weekend at Von Maur
in the Glen Town Center. (And since you'll be there for Suess, why
not?) Spend $28.50 and you'll get loads of eye makeup, lip gloss and
replenishing cream, in a cute Lancome case.

Go 'Cats! And Take A Kid With You!
Even if you've never been to a football game, you'll love
the Big Ten atmosphere this weekend when Northwestern takes on Duke
this weekend - in a spectacular night game! It's Take A Kid to The
Game Night, which means that for a single adult end zone ticket ($20),
TWO kids (8th grade and under) get in free! That's less than $7 a person!
Plus don't forget Wildcat Alley, which opens at 5 p.m. there'll be
music, games, food, drinks compliments of Goose Island, meet and
greet with the Wildcat women's soccer team, and much more!
Insider Tip O' The Week
If you're looking for a great way to get some exercise AND take in
the North Shore at the same time, check out the 23rd Annual North
Shore Century - a bike rally of varying lengths up and down the North
Shore, starting in Evanston and sponsored by the Evanston Bike Club.
There's a small entry fee to get in on the action, which is limited
to 1,600 riders. Up for the 100 mile route? Just want to ride a
leisurely eight miles? Try it out - chances are, you'll come across
some magnificent scenery, outstanding real estate and fabulous shops
you've never seen whizzing by at 45 miles an hour!
