When Mindy Berkson of Lotus Blossom Consulting LLC announced she was hosting a Girls Nite Out (GNO) my mind went to wine and cheese, candles and a bunch of women sitting around shoeless, listening to one hit wonders.

Not exactly...

Among countless other things, Mindy figured out how to merge nearly 100 women to break the rules by mixing the taboos of business and pleasure. That’s right, entrepreneurs who shop, imagine that? In this hotel conference room the crowd talked shop while they bought and the room buzzed, while business cards flew. From the get go Adrienne made it clear that what she does is make women feel good about themselves. Like it! How she does it is by offering women every shape and size a thorough selection of intimate apparel ranging from the sexiest penoir set to the more practical “strap them in items”, to the more fun comfortable and everyday frilly pieces. Even I – the most modest mouse would trust Adrienne and feel comfortable exposing myself (and foibles) to her and her help. To keep things happening, Adrienne’s boutique also provides books to inspire the mood. My favorite find on her display table “How To Tickle His Pickle” which I learned has been an absolute hit among her customers. Don’t delay… make sure what others can’t see is as beautiful as you are, so you feel it underneath it all.

Kathleen is a walking, talking poster child for women and art. While promoting her handbags at this event she wore two other lines – one of fabulous plastic jewelry – the other of clothing too cool for school. Kathleen’s explained that her handbag line was started by a single Mom living near a military base. Being beyond resourceful this designer took these vibrant materials used to make military shoes and other items and turned them into smashing shapes. Voila…further support for the mind set of fashion’s where you find it. These bags have been worn by A-List celebrities and others in an around the North Shore.
