TODAY’S HOLIDAY TIP: TAP INTO YOUR ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

NEW TRIER TOWNSHIP SEEKS DONATIONS AS HOLIDAYS QUICKLY APPROACH!

The holidays are upon us and while most families are planning their holidays meals and gift exchanges, others in the Township are faced with the decision of which bill to pay: groceries or utilities, shelter or clothing, medical care or other necessitates.

"Any individual or family can run into hard times," noted Township Supervisor Patricia B. Cantor. To assist those residents in need, the Township has an Angel Fund and Food Pantry. These programs are a source of happiness, joy and satisfaction for all involved, and with the generous help of the community we can further contribute to the well-being of individuals and families in need.

How You Can Help

Cash donations can be made to The Angel Fund, which provides assistance for families, children and elderly individuals who need to get through short-term crisis situations and who have needs that are not met by other public or private programs.

The Angel Fund is a 501 organization and is supported solely by donations from individuals and businesses. At the holiday, the Township also coordinates special gift giving opportunities from toys and books to coats and mittens.

Donations can also be made to the Food Pantry, which offers a variety of canned and packaged food, useful paper goods, and toiletry items. The most needed items by the Food Pantry are: tuna, macaroni and cheese dinner, canned dinners, canned fruit, pasta and sauce, jelly, paper towels, cereal, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, soap (all kinds), and shampoo.

The holiday season is the ideal opportunity to give the gift of sustenance and hope to those who need it, Cantor added. No donation is too small-all are appreciated.

To make a donation to the Angel Fund, a form can be downloaded at www.newtriertownship.com/pdf/AngelDonationForm.pdf. To provide holiday gifts or items for the Food Pantry please call the Township Social Services Administrator at (847) 446-8201.
