Highwood, IL, January 12, 2008 – The Chicago SuperBlues Bowl – to be held at The Alley, 210 Greenbay Road, Highwood, IL – features a multi-tiered, all-star line-up, including a genuine blues legend, a popular blues recording star, plus six of the best, hardworking performers on the club and festival circuit today.

The event – which exposes suburban music lovers to some of the best artists in Chicago without having to head into the city up to eight separate times – is designed to raise money for the nonprofit film, Bluesified, being developed in cooperation with the Blues Foundation and the Center for Independent Documentary, by BrandXFilms USA, Inc. and Madtown Media. Bluesified explores the state and future of blues music and culture.

Tickets for the Chicago SuperBlues Bowl are $23 in advance at www.bluesbowl.com or (877) 725-8849, and $33 at the door. Doors open at 7:15, and a complimentary appetizer bar (included in the ticket price) runs from 7:30-9 pm, sponsored by local restaurants, The Grill and Bluegrass.

8:00-8:30 pm HONEYBOY EDWARDS Pre-Release Performance – Chicago SuperBlues Bowl guests will be among the first to hear 92-year-old blues legend Honeyboy Edwards perform cuts from Roamin’ and Ramblin’, his new Earwig Music release, over a month before its “street date” of February 19th. Roamin’ and Ramblin’ features fresh takes on old gems with harmonica greats Bobby Rush, Billy Branch and Johnny "Yard Dog" Jones, previously unreleased 1975 studio recordings of Honeyboy and Big Walter Horton, and circa 1976 concert tracks, both solo and with Sugar Blue. Michael Frank, who also plays on some of the tracks, will accompany on harp. For more information, visit www.earwigmusic.com.

8:45-10:45 pm LIL' ED & THE BLUES IMPERIALS – Smoking slide guitar and raw-boned Chicago shuffles define the sound of Alligator Records artist, Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials. One of the last authentic West Side Chicago bluesmen, Lil' Ed’s wonderfully untamed music, flying leaps and famous toe-walking through the audience, always brings the crowd to its feet. For more information, visit www.alligator.com.

9:30-10:00 pm LIVE AUCTION (in between Lil’ Ed sets) – featuring items from practical to collectible, including a rare, autographed Alligator Records 20th Anniversary Tour poster.

11:00 pm-1:00 am "BEST OF THE BLUES CLUBS" SHOWCASE & JAM – A one-of-a-kind set of performances featuring Tom Holland (of the James Cotton Band), Toronzo Cannon and the Cannonball Express, Chico Banks, Tom Crivellone, Chainsaw Dupont, and André Howard.

Sponsors for the Chicago SuperBlues Bowl include: Alligator Records, The Photo Reserve, Monster Energy, The Grill and Bluegrass.
