Hannah Banana Bread

Would you name your daughter after Banana Bread?

Absolutely, if her name was Hannah and you were Lisa and Pete Spinner, owners of Hannah Banana Bread.

If her name was Cinderella, it would be a Cinderella story, but this is the story of how Hannah Banana Bread was born, about the same time that Hannah was.

Being an overachiever, Lisa Spinner launched her business, Hannah Banana Bread Company the day following Hannah’s christening. From there it was a labor of love and lots of sleepless nights baking and turning cooling racks. Delivery drop offs twice a week out of her SUV and kids in tow at each production phase, literally.

Today, Lisa and Pete have four little bananas, a product portfolio of eight incredibly delicious flavors and solid list of Clients – including the ever popular Sunset Foods (all four locations). New products are always in the hopper while life in Glencoe rehabbing a house and being stay at home parents keeps them insanely busy.

What I most admired about this Lisa and Pete was their sense of humor and willingness to do whatever it takes -- together. While down time is a no doubt luxury, Lisa and Pete laughed easily and were candid about the best parts and challenges of working together, while being married and raising kids. No one said it’s easy but Lisa and Pete made it look fun, more like banana splits rather than going bananas!
