La Casa de Isaac

Today’s Insider Secret
The Hottest Restaurant in This Town is NOT owned by Gabe Viti.

It may look like Highwood, because La Casa De Isaac is sandwiched between Miramar and Carlos. But it’s really Highland Park, as Isaac Nava, owner of the restaurant made clear.

You see, I have been hearing lots of good dribs and drabs about La Casa De Isaac, so last Wednesday at about 4pm (typically dead time for most restaurant-goers) I went to check out this spot -- which I discovered was one of the newest North Shore hot spots.

Even at this early dinner hour, the tables were starting to fill up, the staff busy at work but owner, Isaac Nava primed and ready to meet and greet.

I was made to feel completely welcome and at home. I sipped on Jamaica (pronounced Hamika) Iced Tea ideal for 90+ degree weather and learned how this Casa came to town.

As Isaac tells it, La Casa De Isaac was just meant to be. The perfect opportunity to re-create his Momma’s traditional recipes and serve the dishes he savored growing up in Huitzuco, a small town in Mexico. Isaac and his brother Moishe make sure that at this Casa here on the North Shore, quality and value are true amigos. And, they deliver on this promise with passion – for food, friendly atmosphere, solid service and good times.

And here are a few more Insider Secrets about La Casa De Isaac:

  1. They are open all day -- for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  2. They are NOT – I repeat, NOT open on Friday nights but re-opens on Saturday evening – one hour after sundown which of course varies so call in advance
  3. There’s FREE wi-fi at the Casa and if you prefer just call ahead and place an order for pick up. Catering too is available.
