In the day, eyeglasses were worn for function. In my case, I couldn’t read a STOP sign (this is true). Thankfully, the stigma of wearing glasses has worn off. These days it’s almost the opposite and now glasses are the hottest fashion accessory. Some peeps wear glasses just to pull off “the look” whether it be corporate conservative, funky artist, or sexy librarian.
NorthShoreInsider.com met with the lovely Carolyn Rijke, Store Manager from SEE Eyewear in Highland Park to get the scoop on what the latest and greatest is in eyeglass trends.

Being an accessory junkie I tested this theory and made a mess of Carolyn’s store trying on just about everything. Then Carolyn shared her trick... when looking for glasses always go against your face shape. In other words if your face is round – stay away from the Harry Potter specs. If you have an angular shape try something softer with less edge unless you want to intimidate your neighbors.
