S.I.P Kids Safety
The Inside Scoop
The Things You May Never Have Thought Of To Keep Your Kids Safe
I can’t say I’ve always worn my seat belt or taken every precaution to be safe. However with my kids, I was convinced that I had done everything to ensure their safety – until last weekend when a team of kid’s safety experts opened my eyes to some new resources and critical means for keeping our kids safe.
S.I.P. Kids
At first, the idea of finger printing kids sounded like it was going a bit overboard. That was until NorthShoreInsider.com met with
BJ, a representative from S.I.P. Kids (Safety In Prints) a national organization that finger prints kids to so their parents have at least part of what they need should gosh forbid, a child is missing or hurt. You see, what makes one of the biggest differences in a recovery situation is time. Having finger prints of your child on hand can dramatically reduce the gathering of information and help law enforcement to get the best results in the shortest amount of time. This program is 100% free and is designed to keep you informed, and your child protected. All records are yours and NOT ever stored on a data base.
It’s super quick and easy… and not even messy because S.I. P. Kids uses the same quality of digital equipment used by the White House and FBI.
For more information about S.I.P. Kids go to www.SIPKids.org or contact your local police station and they can help you get your kids finger printed.
Car Seats
Yes, of course you know that your child should be in a car seat when their young… but the truth is that they should be in a 5 Point Harness in until they’re 12 years old.
And that’s where the Kyle David Miller Foundation comes in. The primary purpose behind this organization is to educate the public about seatbelt failure and car seat safety.
Secondly, it’s to provide safe car seats to those who otherwise can’t afford them. North Shore Auto and many of its partners have helped this cause by providing new car seats to families in need and volunteering as the center for those who want to make new car seat donations. To do so contact Carl Ritz at 847-433-7900
Car Seat Installation
While installing a car seat may appear like a quick and easy task – Alfonso Avina from Safe Kids and Children’s Memorial Hospital explained that 80% of child restraints are used incorrectly. To address this – North Shore Auto Group has a dedicated technician on staff to ensure that the car seat you have is properly installed. Whether you purchase your car at North Shore Auto Group or not, they will provide this service FOR FREE!
