Summer on Stage @ Apple Tree Theatre

What its like to be a Pirate on the North Shore.
Summer on Stage...the antidote to a ho-hum (local) summer

Truly, I can not remember the last time I enjoyed myself like I did the other night. No joke, my cheeks had cramps the next day from smiling so hard.

Here’s what happened…I did the right thing and accompanied my neighbor to see his daughter in a local community theatre production “Pirates of Lake Michigean (a take on Pirates of the Caribbean) a Summer on Stage production at Apple Tree Theatre. I thought, how bad could it be... and now, I want to kick myself.

Ignorance is NOT bliss…because had I known how fantastastically good this was I would be back to see it again and again and again.

The musical numbers rocked, the dramatic scenes fun and funny and the pirate fight scenes as good as any Spaghetti Western. BTW, I understand the staff brought in professionals to show the kids how to learn real stage knock em, sock em!

In my state of post show elation,
I tracked down the director, Jessica Bogart, and managed to score a quick interview with some of this season’s brightest starlets – Madison and Tamara.

They shared what it was like to be an actress for the summer and why being part of this crew filled their personal treasure chest.

The good news… you don’t have to wait til next summer to get yourself or your aspiring drama king or queen involved in this program.
