565 Quincy Down To 3 Models For Sale

July 28, 2012 – “Being last doesn’t suck.” At least that’s the latest sales headline on the 565 Quincy site. According to the ad, there are only three furnished models left for sale at this Chicago real estate development.

The ad states that buyers can get final price reductions, some free furniture and a free heated indoor parking space valued at $35,000. Since the models are already furnished we aren’t sure if the ad means buyers get to keep the furniture or if the old $5,000 furniture credit promotion is still in effect.

The models left for sale at 565 Quincy consist of two lofts and one condo. Prices range from $247,900 to $289,900. Standard finishes include hardwood flooring, marble baths, stainless steel kitchen appliances and granite counter tops.

Building perks are mostly located in the Q Room, which features a two lane bowling alley, theater room, billiard tables, putting green and fitness center.

Buyers interested in Chicago lofts and having access to their own putting green and bowling alley may want to check out these last developer units left for sale at 565 Quincy.

Move To The Coast In February

July 21, 2012 – If you’ve ever thought you like to live at the coast, you may get your chance starting in February. Not the coast by the sea, but the Coast at Lakeshore East. It’s the new 51 story luxury apartment tower set to open early next year on 345 East Wacker Drive.

Chicago real estate developer Magellan Development Group president David Carlins said in a Tribune article that they plan to have the high-rise topped off by the middle of next month (August) and renters should be able to start moving in sometime in February 2013. He also said they have a priority waiting list of potential renters.

The Coast is the eighth tower at Lakeshore East and all of them have nautical-themed names. The 518 Chicago apartments in this high-rise will be smoke-free and range in size from studios to three bedrooms.

The luxury tower will also contain a 277 space parking garage, 17,985 square feet of lower level retail space and 18,999 square feet of building amenities including a landscaped deck with outdoor pool, fitness center, lounge, business center and indoor spa.

Other amenities and rental rates will be announced as construction on this high-rise wraps up. If you can’t wait until then to move into a new Chicago apartment, there are still plenty of North Shore Chicago condos for sale and rent.

Recent High Dollar Luxury Chicago Condo Sales

July 14, 2012 – The Chicago real estate market may not technically be in recovery mode, but sales of luxury Chicago condos just keep on ticking. Those condos may not always be selling at a profit, but they are still selling.

About a month ago a 3,904 square foot, full-floor unit on the 30th floor of 50 East Chestnut sold for $2.9 million. According to Crain’s, the buyer was a past co-president of the New York Stock Exchange, Jerry Putnam.

Mr. Putnam got the Gold Coast condo for a little less than the $2.93 million that the former owner paid for it in 2007. The residence has two balconies and upgraded finishes, according to the article.

The other recent high-dollar sale to make the news in Crain’s was at the Regatta. Jonathan Toews, captain of the Blackhawks, purchased a three bedroom, 39th floor condo with a private 1,000 square foot roof top deck with a hot tub. The luxury unit has panoramic views, custom finishes like onyx sinks plus three SubZero refrigerators, according to the article. Mr. Toews paid $2.05 million for the condo.

If you have a two or three extra million gathering dust you can probably find some beautiful luxury Chicago condos listed for less than what you might expect.

Rental Units Now Available At Randolph Tower

July 7, 2012 – Chicago apartments are still a booming section of the Chicago real estate market and a lot of developers are trying to cash in on the demand. After being totally redone, the units at Randolph Tower on 188 West Randolph are available as rentals. Now called the Randolph Tower City Apartments, renters can chose from 40 floor plans in studios to penthouse units, according to an article in the Chicago Sun Times.

Rental rates for the studios start at $1,500 per month and as much as $6,000 for the penthouse apartments. The 26 penthouse units are located on floors 28 through 42 and according to the article, have great views of the skyline. One penthouse even sports a wrap-around terrace with city views and one duplex measures in at 2,000 square feet.

The penthouses come with stainless steel Whirlpool and KitchenAid appliances, 42 inch wood cabinets, mosaic tile backsplash, marble flooring, walk-in closets and fireplaces.

The other apartments are finished with hardwood flooring, have 9 to 12 foot ceilings, granite counter tops, kitchen islands, walk-through closets, washer and dryer, soaker tubs and rain showers.

Building amentities at the Randolph Tower City Apartments include 24 hour concierge service, a fitness center, indoor swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, outdoor terrace, Sky Park with a lounge, kitchen, poker room, video game center and theater plus a business center and conference room. Other amenities include a restaurant and outdoor cafe on the lower level.

These apartments are also pet-friendly.

Randolph Tower City Apartments may be worth checking into if you’re looking for new Chicago apartments with a lot of old history and new finishes and amenities. There are also plenty of Chicago condos still available as well if you’re in the market to buy.
