Bank Of America Open

The PGA Tour’s own Bank of America Open is coming to The Glen located in Glenview this week.  The opening round begins on Thursday with over 125 PGA Tour golfers competing for the $135,000 prize.  Prominent golfers such as Chris Smith, Kevin Stadler, Kevin Johnson, and Nick Flanagan are headlining the event.  The opening round begins at 7:00 am on Thursday but if that is a little bit early for you, golfers are teeing off as late as 2:00.  If you can’t catch the action live, it is also being broadcasted on the Golf Channel Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Aside from the tournament itself, The Glen is offering a wide variety of events and activities that spectators can enjoy. First off, anybody who attends the Bank of America Open will have the opportunity to compete in the Hole-In-One Competition.  Participants will have the chance to try and make a Hole-In-One on the par 3, 17th hole on Saturday May 31 or Sunday June 1.  Of the contestants that make the shot, one lucky winner will be drawn to split a $50,000 jackpot with Bank of America Open’s affiliated charities.
Also, the Glen Town Center’s Navy Park will have a three day outdoor wine tasting festival which will last from Friday until through Sunday.  This event is obviously available to people who are of legal age to drink.  The festival will feature wines from all around the world inside an informal, open-air tasting rooms.  There will also be food tasting from local restaurants, live music, and interactive activities for kids.  Every Bank of America Open general admission ticket grants you VIP access to this event and a free beverage.  There will also be a free shuttle that transports people between the Glen Club and the Glen Town Center.
