A Kid-Friendly Sidewalk Sale

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 by Rachel

Sidewalk Sale   It’s a sidewalk sale- revamped! Who wants to drag their kids down the sidewalk, kicking and screaming while simultaneously fighting off the crowds for that LBD (little black dress) on sale for 70% off?

To avoid this potentially very whiney dilemma, cruise over to Evanston’s Central Street Sidewalk Sale/ Family Fest and Budding Artist Art Fair. (* Insider tip…AVOID SHERIDAN ROAD AT ALL COSTS…Hello construction capitol of the North Shore! For a road with less rage, take Green Bay!) This is not your average sidewalk sale – although it comes equipped with quite the crowd, it stands above the rest because of the diversity in shopping opportunities. Where else can you find spices, antiques, restaurants, clothes, and distracting kid friendly entertainment all in one place?

Sizzling details:

David Sedaris Alert!

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008 by Kelly

Are you a fan of David Sedaris? Then get over to Borders in Evanston tomorrow for a reading and signing of his new book, “When You Are Engulfed In Flames.”

Sedaris has that sense of humor that precious few possess but everyone wants. He’s dry, witty, and just plain funny. And he’s got a wickedly funny sister, so it runs in the family. You can find him on Wednesday the 11th at:

Borders
1700 Maple
Evanston
847.733.8852

The reading and signing is at 7 p.m., but you’ll have to hit up the store around 2 p.m., when they hand out the free admission wristbands.
