Hi all! My name is Rachel and I’m brand new on the Insider team. I’ve just come back from my first year at Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!). As of right now I plan to major in Journalism and minor in Business (I guess that depends on whether or not I can pass my Stats class). I’ve lived my whole life on the North Shore, so I know my fair share of insider tips (fresh bagels HALF PRICE every day after 4pm- Once Upon A Bagel 1888 1st St Highland Park, Il 60035).
I don’t know about you, but this summer I’m not about to trek through the war zone of the Eden’s Expressway just to eat at a new restaurant in the city when I know there are cool, undiscovered restaurants here, right under our noses. This summer, rather than staying in Bloomington, Indiana (where I know there will be a lot of action) I’m on a mission to discover some of The North Shore’s hidden gems including, restaurants, boutiques, summer festivals, neighborhood music, farmers markets…you get the picture. Check back often for ideas and suggestions to liven up your summer and expand your horizons!
