Sales Down In Zion
February 15th, 2008 by JakeThe real estate market in Zion saw a drop in demand during the third quarter. According to data from the Chicago Association of Realtors, a total of just 67 single-family homes were sold in the neighborhood during the quarter.
This is a 34 percent drop in sales from the same period in 2006, and the lowest total sales for the quarter since 1994.
However, buyers are starting to see lower prices in this North Shore suburb, which could help spur demand in the short term. The average sales price during the third quarter fell by 13 percent from the same period in 2006, and now stands at $145,436. This is the lowest average sales price for homes sold in the neighborhood since 2003.
If you’re in the market for an affordable North Shore home, Zion offers a number of excellent homes at great prices that haven’t been seen in a couple of years. The neighborhood is well connected with Chicago, and offers residents a quiet and relaxed lifestyle close to Lake Michigan.
