Slow First Quarter Sales In Highwood

June 9th, 2008 by Jake

Sales of both single-family homes and condominiums slowed during the first quarter in Highwood.

According to data from the Chicago Association of Realtors, just 3 single-family homes were sold in the North Shore neighborhood during the first quarter, down from five units sold during the same period last year. Condo sales also slowed during the first quarter, with just one unit sold during the period.

Buyers focused on the most affordable homes during the first quarter. According to the C.A.R. report, the average sales price of the homes sold during the quarter fell to $288,083, down nearly 40 percent from the same period last year. The average turnover time for homes on the market fell to 85 days, down from 103 days a year ago.

This could help push up prices for single-family homes in the next few months, as homeowners wait less time to find a buyer in Highwood. Keep an eye open for great deals on single-family homes and condominiums in this pleasant North Shore community. Find the best deals on North Shore Chicago Real Estate today.
