The Jazz Rocks…And So Does The Creme Brulee
November 25th, 2008 by KellyLast weekend brought me a lucky date night with the husband – and because we’re very last-minute planners, very rarely does a date night involve anything that requires buying tickets or making reservations. So after a great dinner in Glenview, we headed north up Milwaukee Avenue to Pete Miller’s in Wheeling, and enjoyed some great jazz along with our dessert.
It really is a date night nirvana for the right person – where else can you listen to live jazz, enjoy a martini and catch the Blackhawks game on the flatscreen? The Ron Perillo Quartet was very, very good, and so was my Creme Brulee – so much so I’m thinking of learning just to make it myself. Although, this requires a kitchen-appropriate blowtorch, and with two middle school boys under the roof, I’m not sure if that’s a really good idea.
If you’re looking for something to do with your significant other, the movie listings are lacking, and you’d rather just kick back, give Pete Miller’s a try!
