Thunderhawk Ranked In Top 10 Municipal Golf Courses
June 30th, 2008 by KellyTrolling around the Internet tonight, I was pleased to discover this: that GolfWeek Magazine named a North Shore Chicago municipal course, the Thunderhawk in Beach Park, to its Top 10 Municipal Courses!
It’s no surprise we’ve got some seriously good golf in these parts – but it’s always nice to get a little extra attention. If you’re thinking about trying out a new course this summer, the Thunderhawk now has some serious street cred and feels a bit like a getaway for the day. It’s about an hour from the City proper, so depending on where you are on the North Shore, it could take less than that. You can make your reservation online or call 847-968-3100 for more information, including tee times. To get there, take I-94 north to IL Route 173. Exit IL Route 173 EAST. Proceed east to Lewis Avenue. Turn SOUTH (right) onto Lewis Avenue. Proceed south to 29th Street. Course entrance is is just past 29th Street on the west side of Lewis Avenue. Or from Route 41, head north to Wadsworth Road. Exit EAST on Wadsworth Road to Lewis Avenue. Turn NORTH (left) onto Lewis Avenue. Proceed north to 33rd Street. Course entrance is one-quarter mile north of 33rd Street on the west side of Lewis Avenue.
