Wanted: Ideas For Fall Fun

Believe it, people. Summer’s on its way out the door. Exit stage right. Sayonara. Au Revoir.

I know - it comes as quite a shock for me, too. I LOVE summer, and do not look forward to another long season of winter coats and mittens and hats and boots all tossed by our front door, leaving a nasty salt/ice trail along the floor. I much prefer sweeping up sand to wiping up mud. Dangit. Oh well. Since I can’t fight Mother Nature….I need to think, “What would Oprah do?”

Say what you want - the woman’s a positive thinker. If I were to ask her, “O, how can I get out of the cool weather doldrums?”, she would most likely wax on about her favorite fall things, like horseback trips through her Indiana farm woods while wrapped in a cashmere shawl, sipping Art Smith-inspired mulled cider. Then, when I ask, “O, what about us little, not quite defined as “rich” by John McCain, people? What can WE do?”, maybe she would suggest visiting NorthShoreInsider.com for some wonderful ideas to celebrate the turning of the seasons.

And…I’m back to Square One. OK - I am asking all you NorthShoreInsider.com fans - what do YOU do for fun in the fall? I’m looking for everything, from hitting up NU for a Big Ten football tailgate, to trekking through the Forest Preserve for fall foliage expeditions. Who’s got the best hot cider? The best pumpkin selections? A kickin’ corn maze? Talk to me, people!
