600 Lake Shore Drive – Exclusive Chicago Lake Front Address...

600 North Lake Shore Drive occupies the very last address on the north side of the Lake, making it a one of a kind development from the Belgravia Group and Sandz Development, who have fifty years of experience building luxury homes. Just like the exclusive address, the pair of high-rise towers offers buyers an exclusive living experience with no more than six units on each floor. With that limited number of homes on each level, the views are some of the best in the city. The ceilings stretch to a loft height of almost nine and a half feet with expansive windows measuring at least seven feet to frame the cityscape, skyline and lake views.

The nearly finished towers at 600 North LSD

The north tower stands at 40 stories and the south tower is 46 stories tall. The buildings are separated by about 60 feet, which allows each building more viewing room. Pappageorge Haymes designed the lower parking floors to look as though they are really residential units. Cosmetic windows and balconies disguise the six floors of parking to make it seem as though the condos start at street level. It makes the towers appear less disconnected to the neighborhood by bringing at least the impression of homes right down to a pedestrian level.

Besides the obvious perks of living along the Lake, residents at 600 will have dozens of retail, grocery and dining options within a block or two of the towers. You can grab a sandwich at the local Subway or have a meal at the Wave Restaurant. Starbucks is right there to hand you a cup of your favorite blend and the Flamingo Bar and Grill is ready to serve up something good. The McClurg Court Theatre is on tap for entertainment and the Fox and Obel Food Market can supply all of your grocery needs.

Building features at 600 North Lake Shore Drive include a beautifully decorated lobby where a 24 hour doorman is on duty to greet residents and guest. There is a combination lounge and viewing room at the ready and also party and even rooms that can be booked for hosting celebrations or special gatherings with friends and family. The full service kitchens that come with the party rooms make it much easier to prepare a meal or appetizers for a large group of people.

A fitness center equal to any private club or gym is open for residents to use. Working out is all the more enjoyable when you don't have to drive across town to do it. And speaking of work, any time you have to bring it home from the office or need to schedule a meeting you can take advantage of the business center and its professional resources.

The development offers a dry cleaning and valet service as well as has a building engineer in residence and ready to address any issues that might come up.

Heated indoor parking is available and residents have their own private storage space along with a bike storage room. You can spend time outdoors in your own personal oasis by going up to the rooftop sun deck. There you'll find a sculpture garden and landscaped space perfect for relaxing almost any time.

More time can be spent relaxing outdoors on the individual private balconies that come with each condo. Elegant glass railing surrounds the concrete space and it has been equipped with lighting and an electrical outlet.

There are some 400 units at the towers that vary in size from 1,116 to 2,547 square feet. The floor plans have from one to three bedrooms and one to three and a half baths. The ceilings stretch over nine feet high and the seven foot tall entry doors are solid wood. Aluminum framed windows and doors with insulated glass help with heating and cooling, plus each home has individual thermostat controls for regulating temperature. CAT5 and RG6 wiring for cable television and telephones are standard in every unit and recessed lighting has been installed in the hallways and bathrooms.

Every unit has a laundry room with either full sized or stackable GE washer and dryer, vinyl clad shelving and 12 by 12 white ceramic tile flooring.

The flooring consists of natural oak hardwood in the dining and living rooms. Twelve inch square marble tile covers the floors in the foyer, master baths and powder room. Kitchens have twelve inch square porcelain tile. The secondary baths have twelve inch ceramic tile. The bedrooms and hallways contain plush wall to wall carpeting, creating a luxurious feel.

The kitchens are gourmet quality and have a top of the line GE stainless steel appliance package that includes a Profile side by side refrigerator with ice maker, built-in electric convection oven and standard double oven, gas range, multi-cycle dishwasher, Spacemaker microwave and 1/2 horsepower disposal. The 42 inch upper level cabinets are crafted by Wood Mode and hefty 3/4 inch granite covers the counter tops. The sink is a Kohler double bowl stainless steel under mount with Grohe pull-out faucet.

The master baths feature marble shower walls and surround and 3/4 inch marble counter tops. A roomy Kohler Mariposa soaking tub, clear glass tub and shower divider, Grohe and Kohler sinks, toilet and faucets plus Wood Mode Brookhaven cabinets and vanities round out the room.

The secondary baths have 8 by 8 inch ceramic tile tub and shower surrounds with a solid composite counter top surface. Kohler brand cast iron tub, toilet, Grohe faucets and Wood Mode cabinets are in place. The powder rooms are similar but with a pedestal sink

600 North Lake Shore Drive is a distinct development that lives up to occupying the final building spot on the North Lake Shore. One look at the condos there will cement that fact.
