The Mandarin will stretch up some seventy-four stories high into the Chicago skyline. That is a towering 930 feet, giving the building the distinction of becoming the ninth tallest in Chicago. With such height, the views at the Mandarin Oriental will be nothing short of stunning. The surrounding Lake Shore area and Millennium Park, plus the breathtaking Chicago vista and Lake Michigan are exciting and calming at the same time.
The total number of units in the Mandarin will stand at five hundred. These living spaces are categorized into three groups; Hotel Condos, Residences and Tower Condos. This is a mixed use building, which plans to utilize the lower first twenty-eight floors for businesses and hosting conferences, retail stores, shops, two fine restaurants, two large ballrooms, secure indoor valet parking and the building fitness center combination health club and spa, located on floor eighteen, is an incredible 32,000 square feet. Residents of the Mandarin will have no problem staying fit when they can access the center. Services offered there include yoga and pilates classes, cardio sessions, weight training and massage services. The center also has a sauna with steam room and a large swimming pool.
On floors twenty-eight through forty, the Mandarin will feature two hundred and fifty hotel condo guest rooms that will be the highest five star quality in terms of luxury, design detail and service. On floors forty-one through fifty-four, the Mandarin will house one hundred residential living units. Moving up to floors fifty-five through seventy-four, there will be one hundred and fifty tower condos available at the Mandarin.
The Mandarin plans to offer the 250 total "condotel" units starting at the $600,000 mark and increasing on up to nearly $7 million. The interior of these one bedroom and two bedroom units is lavishly detailed with high end finishes. Lavish bathrooms, plasma televisions and spacious master bedrooms are just a few of the perks. Building services that come with these residences include fine dining for meals, limousine service, concierge service, free parking with valet, housekeeping services, and wait staff including doorpersons and bellmen. If the owner of one of these hotel condos doesn't wish to remain in residence all year, he or she has the option of leasing them back for a period of time with the Mandarin assuming responsibility for upkeep and management of the unit for the absent owner.
The next group of private residences at the Mandarin are even more luxurious, if possible. These condos are also one bedroom and two bedroom units. They have a private lobby that accesses the entrance to the homes and the option of buying them already furnished is available. If interior design is your thing or you want to create a totally personalized space, then you can purchase one of these homes completely unfurnished and make your mark. The price tag on the condos located from floors forty-one to fifty-four starts at $1.2 million. With that, residents get treated to the same great service package that the Mandarin offers to the hotel condo unit buyers on the floors below.
Finally, the Tower condo units are the pinnacle of life at the Mandarin. The starting price on these homes is $650,000. With floor plans that call for one bedroom, two bedroom, three bedroom and four bedroom units, there will be something to suite anyone's needs. All of these Tower condos have a private elevator to take residents up to their homes. The options vary per condo, but can include a sitting room, media room or dressing room. The condos have high ceilings, some of them up to ten feet, and floor to ceiling windows. Gourmet kitchens have appliance packages that come from quality manufacturers. The baths are designed for both comfort and relaxation with Kohler fixtures, French limestone flooring, ceramic tile and marble counter tops. Residents of the Tower Condos will be treated to all hotel services including spa services and also get first priority for Mandarin restaurant reservations.
When the Mandarin Oriental Tower is complete, it will usher in a whole new style of luxury living in Chicago.
