Certified Public Accountants Do More Than Crunch Numbers

There is more to the job of Skokie certified public accountants than crunching numbers, but the common thread of all CPAs is their ability to pass extensive testing that certifies their abilities. Before being able to use the CPA designation, however, additional state testing and educational requirements must also be met.

While many states offer reciprocal licensing agreements, not all states do. This can also stem from their familiarity with financial analysis and information technology as it applies to accounting and auditing.

Since the accounting fiascos of the mid-1990s, another realm of Skokie CPAs has been certifying results and reports of all things financial. As part of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination, a portion is on ethics and due to their passing stringent ethics standards their duty to attest to the accuracy of information is seldom questioned.
