What is a Realtor?

Many people living in Skokie, Illinois are unaware that a realtor and real estate agent is not always the same thing.  A realtor is a real estate agent who is a member of the National Association of Realtors.

The National Association of Realtors is the recognized association for realtors.  It is the largest professional organization in the world.  It also holds the registered trademark on the word ‘realtor’.

Being a realtor means the real estate agent has agreed to a certain ethical code that states they will follow certain requirements about conducting business in Skokie, Illinois.  Realtors are also required to take continuing education as part of their licensing and membership in the association.
